The Internet, a last voice against the establishment?
This documentary is narrated by Sean Penn the scourge of the Right Wing in America. Putting aside any partisan opinions it does clearly highlight how the US government, with the full support of the mainstream media created the justifcation for the war in Iraq.
It explores how the mainstream media reported only the government’s ‘facts’ and condemned any opinions to the contrary. Even when the public consensus was against the war the media corporations continued to base their reports on what the White House said.
If you look back to 2003 and the time since its interesting to note just how much anti-war and anti-US reporting was carried out on-line, perhaps due to the blockade in the mainstream media.
The hawkish reporting by the US news media is frightening.
